The National Rifle Association of America is made up of four million moms and dads, sons and daughters – and we were shocked, saddened and heartbroken by the news of the horrific and senseless murders in Newtown.

Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting.

The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again.

The NRA is planning to hold a major news conference in the Washington, DC area on Friday, December 21.

Details will be released to the media at the appropriate time.

I am remourseful over the shooting of the innocent children that passed away and it broke my heart. If law abiding citizens loose the right to own a gun then the criminals win. Only people who intend to break the law kill people not law abiding citizen. I am a member of the military and I worry every day about the direction of our country. After I see what the NRA annoucment is on 21 DEC 12 will determine if I become a member.

There is too much rage in America and America’s values are rapidly disappearing. People are learning that violence is a solution to their problems. This is the new America, Religion is looked down upon. Drug use is viewed as acceptable. On our currency it says “In God we Trust” but America has forgot who God is. Maybe they should change it to “In Drugs we Trust”. We need to bring back religion to our citizens, our schools and to our government. We are paying the price for leaving God out of our daily living.
